As creative beings, we are far more productive when we are enjoying ourselves!
'Play' is super fuel for the creative process.
So in order to help you break through some of that content makers 'block'
you may be experiencing, here is a great little game
to help you create
text content without even realising you are working at it.

..................................................................................
The Write it down game.
The real beauty to this game is to give yourself some strict deadlines.
It's amazing what you can create when you give yourself no time to think!

Having to write text is often an uphill struggle, as you find your attention
wandering onto other interests and distractions.
wandering onto other interests and distractions.
But, give yourself a remarkably short time limit and you have no choice
but to focus. Reduce the time to write and you reduce the amount of waffle
you create. This way, there simply is no time to waste!

you create. This way, there simply is no time to waste!
Try each of these time limits and see what you can happens.
First pick the topic or set yourself a simple goal.
A practical example. would be to think of 50 post titles for your website or blog.
Just the titles - which should give you an understanding of what the post contains.
You should be able to write these 50 titles down within the time.
This little exercise can help to give you loads of potential ideas about what
to write about when ever you get stuck on what to create your content on.
to write about when ever you get stuck on what to create your content on.
More often than not, one in ten of your ideas will be amazing - but you need
to get to the tenth idea before you can see which one is best.

When it comes to content making, time is usually in limited supply so this
game is great for forcing you to think fast and get all your ideas down on paper.

Tick off the ones you manage to achieve from the list below, remember .....
... no cheating!
(Grab yourself a kitchen timer or set an alarm on your phone and get going)
- 10 minutes maximum time to achieve your goal
- 5 minutes maximum time to achieve your goal
- 2 minutes maximum time to achieve your goal
- Try the 60 second challenge - how quick can you get your ideas down!
Well done, now grab a cup of tea and review your results.
The important point here is not the neatness and quality of your answers
- simply ignore any thing you wrote down in the heat of the moment and
move on to filtering the good from the not so good.
How did you do?
Are there many good ones left in the pile? If not, simply repeat the
process again . It will often take a few goes to get the hang of freeing up
your 'creative inner child' so don't be too hard on yourself if you think
most of your ideas suck!
Try out further ideas for content themes, maybe give yourself a ten minute
time limit to create a whole post!
Then spend another ten minutes editing - and post your results.
You may find your output is better than you thought it would be,
or even better than when you have too much time to write your articles or posts.
Please feel free to let me know how you get on by sending me a comment or email!
